Cat Durrant MRCVS started out in Pembrokeshire, South Wales, where she went to school and 6th form before moving to London to get her Bachelors Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College. Whilst she enjoyed studying large animals, it was obvious early on that she would become a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon.
Whilst dogs are great, she particularly enjoys working with cats and 'small furries', such as rats, hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits. She genuinely enjoys the company of feisty or otherwise grumpy cats, and is a self-diagnosed crazy cat lady. She is looking to begin a certificate in Feline Medicine in the next few years in order to provide a better standard of care to her feline patients.
No doubt this will scare some people off, but she has three pet rats called Mousy, Jay and Silent Bob. Her free time is spent hiking in the woods, on the beach, baking or recently, she has taken HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts).
