EMERGENCIESDuring normal surgery hours If you have an emergency with your pet, please telephone the surgery for advice before doing anything on (029) 2062 1511. We are always able to give better care to emergencies at the surgery than at home, where equipment, drugs and nursing help are very limited, so you will probably need to bring your pet to our main surgery in Rhiwbina. If the emergency happens outside normal surgery hours, listen carefully to the message on the answer phone. The telephone number for the Veterinary Emergency Treatment Service will be given. This clinic is manned by experienced staff all night and all weekend and is dedicated to providing out-of-hours emergency care for most of the veterinary practices in Cardiff and the surrounding area. Again, you will need to transport your pet to the V.E.T.S. Clinic, which is situated on Merthyr Road in Gabalfa, about a mile from our Rhiwbina premises. Expert emergency care will be given by V.E.T.S., and you will be referred back to us the following day for any ongoing treatment. If your pet is poorly enough to need hospitalisation there, he/she will be transported back to our surgery as soon as well enough. |
